Whenever, my kids or I got them we would just simply put vaseline on them, the night before going to sleep, with a cutip, and barely touch it, you dont want to irritate it to get worse, and dont mess with it, when it begins to heal either... And just keep, keeping vaseline on it everyday, as often as you can. Especially at nights!! Before Bed...... I swear by vaseline!! Its organic, and so effective!!! Everyone's going to give you all of these Herpe's medicine suggestions , dont buy into it!! They wont work near as good as vaseline does, hun!! Trust me on this one!! And in the meanwhile during the healing process, for the interview, put a tad of cover up on it, to hide it, and when you get home wipe it off, with a cutip and apply vaseline to replace the cover-up. Good Luck to you hun!!! Hope you get the job!!! Smile!!!

Unfortunatly, in my experiences, at the point of it being huge you are stuck with it for awhile, although you may be able to slow it down some. I have heard good things about Herpicin L and some people seem to like Abreva, although for me it seemed to make my cold sore bleed and scar worse. There are those who also like Denavir, I believe in Valtrex. Yes, it works on cold sores as well. You have to get the script from the doctor. I recently got a new dosage, 2 grams, twice a day for five days. It is a huge amount, but if you catch it before it starts, you can almost stop it in its tracks. As soon as you feel that tingle, start it right away. It is wonderful! Well worth the doctor visit. As far as it not working as well as vaseline, as one of your answers say, if you were to use the Valtrex, there would be no cold sore to put the vaseline on..............that is how good it works!! To treat topically after the fact, the best thing I have found is a vapor rub. (Vicks) Sounds strange, but is very soothing, will take out the swelling and will keep it from cracking. Keep it on thick. You can put lipstick or something on over the top. A couple tylenol will also help with the swelling. Nothing will bring on a cold sore like a wedding or a class reunion or an interview!! lol. Good luck.

Oh my gosh, I am so with you on this. I woke up yesterday with this monster on my lip!! I wen on line to see what to do and it said to take 250-500 mg of vitamin c and 250-500 of citrus bioflavornoids and this has been proven to heal a cold sore much faster. The average life of a cold sore is 14 days, but I also read that if you poke it lightly with a needle and drain the fluid out, it would dry up quicker, so I did this last night and today it's already in the drying up stage. Make sure to keep your hands clean and not to get the fluid on anything except a piece of papertowel and throw it out. I feel for you!!! I hope this helps.

Try some Carmex. That's the best stuff. Apply it tons of times a day. Should at least look way better if not gone. (And wear some lipstick if you can to cover any left.)
