so if you're doing anything that's not "good" it's "evil" by default?

Is it? Is that what you believe? If so then how can evil exist even in the presense of good? I do not live in a black and white, right or wrong world. It must be an easy place for some to live and stay...they have no need to open their minds to other thoughts and ideas.

This is why I don't believe in what some might call 'absolutes' in matters of morality. The truth is sometimes evil acts are required to bring about good, at least that's what some say.

Consider: The is no good in War. Therefore War must be evil. Yet if you go to War to free people, is that evil or merely using evil to affect good? reference: War on Iraq, George thinks he's doing good, I'm not so sure.

Evil isn't the absence of good, but rather a perversion of good. All evil has its beginning in some good or another, but is pushed to an absurd extreme.

Patriotism, for example, when taken to the extreme produces people like Hitler.

The urge to procreate becomes lust.

Prudence gone too far becomes avarice.

The action maybe evil. That does not necessarily mean the person is evil. Everyone does evil from time to time. That is why Christ came to atone for our sins, because no one is perfect. The idea is to minimize the evil that we do and work towards no longer doing evil.

In this material world of dualities, good and evil is depend how is used. For example a scalpel, in the hands of the doctor can save a life, in the hand of criminal can kill someone.
If a soldier kill many people in war by the order of his superiors, he is praise, but if he kill one person by his own will he is condemn.

No, because it could be good to the other side and evil to you. Your good could be evil to them, so it's all a matter of which side you're on.

Well if you're doing so,ething like say doing the dishes. Its not evil, and its not particularly our outstandingly good, Yet maybe not even noticeably good. That does not make it evil, just because it is not noticeably good.

No. There is no good nor evil. There is only a vast spectrum of human behaviors, needs, beliefs, and experiences that are too subjective to be classified as one thing or another.

Sorry to be so vague, handsome, but it's a vague day.
