I found a small lump directly in the middle of my 7 year old daughter's breast. Directly under where the nipple is. It is so evident that it's causing the tissue to protrude. It's about the size of a pea and moves around when touched. She says it hurts when she pushed on it. Any idea what this can be? I am scared and concerned. Thanks.

It could be that her breasts are getting ready to grow properly. I know she is only 7 but I got that at about 8 years old and it hurt too. It took a while before they did actually start to grow properly but it is why I had the lump. And it did appear in 1 a while before the other. If you are really concerned though, I would take her to a Dr.

i'm no longer a wide-spread practitioner, yet at the same time as i became youthful I also had a lump in simple terms in the back of the nipple. My mom became also petrified of what it became so she took me to church and our pastor prayed for me. this would sound like a comic book tale notwithstanding it isnt. Later in life I grew breast and the lump went away. it really is the starting up of her maturing and soon to be a gentle female. that is genuine, and my daughter had an similar lump and now my grandaughters. yet like I said i'm no Dr. If u are truly aggravating then u ought to take her to at least one to alleviate ur thoughts.

They are breast buds - I noticed them on my 8 year old and was concerned - she's 10 now and still doesn't really have boobs so don't worry - you have time before the boobs arrive!!

Her boobs are growing...DUH! It is a lil early but some kids just grow early. Dont you remember growing up...boobs are sore while they are growing. If she had cancer or something she would be the youngest kid in the WORLD with breast cancer. So dont worry about that...shes just growing.

It could be a lymph node swollen.. I would make an appt with the doctor and have it checked out. Don't stress about it ... good luck and hope everything works out.

Its probably a swollen gland. Just have her doctor look at it at the next appointment. I doubt its anything.

Chances are it's normal - like a breast bud. Welcome to puberty. =)

Seriously though, most girls in this age bracket get them...
