Well to start it is just a story.
But I assume that Adam and Eve were the first people that God created, nothing in the bible says they were the only people that God created.
To assume that even from a biblical stand point that God only created Adam and Eve is like to assume that God ONLY created the creatures that are mentioned in Genesis. I am pretty sure that nowhere in Genesis is there mention of the platypus, or kangaroos or killer whales, does that mean that God did not create them?
I don't take the bible literally, I personally don't believe that there where two people named Adam and Eve, but even if you take the bible literally God likely created more people than just Adam and Eve.

It has been calculated with mathematical accuracy, by Geneticists etc. that No Two Persons among the 5 Billion world population are farther away in cousin-relationship, than by about 21 steps or even much lesser.. So a person in Maldive is the 21st cousin of a person in Chile. And the Indians, of all religions, are each others' cousin within 11 or so steps.

Adam & Eve didnt exist but of course we're distant cousins - how could we not be - you think you had a separate origin to any other human? You're related to chimps too in the same way you're related to a literal cousin and going further back monkeys, shrews, reptiles, fish...

Islam taught that all human beings are offspring from same ancestors Adam & Eve, hence universal brotherhood in Islamic teachings, and no discrimination or inequality based on caste, color, creed, religion or region.

Which explains all the insanity in this world. I think inbreeding loses its potency after about the 100th cousin percentage though.
