When I was younger I had mine froze off. That got rid of it and there was no more pain.

I am a nurse and have suffered from plantar pain for a couple of years. The docs just say take anti-inflammatories and analgesics for the pain, but I know this was just masking the symptoms.

Anyway, I got this guide and a couple of days of following it my pain is completely gone. And I know it's really gone cause I'm not on any meds so if there was any pain left I'd know it.

Get rid of your plantar fasciitis & foot pain?

I had this problem when I broke my leg....after it healed I had a problem with Plantar Fasciitis and found that to relive the pressure on the heal either I had to wear flats with a custion or wear shoes that had a heal to take the pressure off the heal and put it more on the ball of the foot.
It will take time for that to heal, mine took about 8 months
Good luck

Find some good arch support inserts for your shoes. This will help prevent future occurrences. Also, if you wear high heels, find some lower heels or just switch to flat shoes altogether.
For immediate relief, you can use a heating pad and massage the foot.
Last flare-up I had was during a time that I couldn't rest and elevate my foot, so I taped the arch (around the foot) with athletic tape and kept walking. It helped a lot.

Going to a physical therapist is the best cure. You need to get the right excercises to get it stretched out. I know how painful it can get, but if you start stretching it out right it will get better.

You may want to get some pads to put in your shoes to take the pressure off of the worst spot of the pain.

You can go to a foot doctor and he may be able to give you an anti-inflammatory drug to help with the pain if it's really bad. You will probably need to go to a doctor to get a script to go to a good PT.

YAY for lockmessy (previous post)!
Here's a quick tip from the PT:
Get an old-style glass Coke bottle (an empty one) and put it in the freezer. Take it out when nice and cold, and roll it under your bare foot on the floor (while seated, please). The combination of massage and cold seems to help.

To find a PT: go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT", and search your home area.
Good Luck!
