Many factors can affect growth, but usually though it is related to the endocrine system in the body. The endocrine system is responsible for the secretion of hormones within the body. The pituitary gland is the master gland and its job is to control the growth in the skeletal, organs and muscles. If the pituitary gland does not secrete enough of the somatotropin hormone then the muscular and skeletal tissues will be affected.
