I have a flea problem, I've bombed the main rooms my pet stayed in, and I am still I am finding fleas on my bed. It's driving me crazy b/c I am alergic to flea bites. I 've bombed three times already chances are I probably go before they do. Is there a chance that the cold weather will kill the fleas outside the house?
Please Help!

The adults die, but the eggs will remain dormant until spring. They'll hatch when it gets warm.
My advice? Bomb ALL of your rooms at the same time. At least three times (a week apart each time). That should allow all of the existing eggs to hatch and the adults to die.
Then get a flea killer/sterilizer for your pet (like Frontline) that will keep the pet from bringing in fertile fleas to re-infest your house.

I'm allergic too and have had the same problem loads of times, i am always the one to go some where and come out covered head to toe in bloody flea bits.
Cold temperature does not kill fleas, they just lay dormant, and as soon as you turn on the heating they pop up again.
The only way i got rid of them was i had to get rid of my quilt and pillows because they nest in them, if you have one of those devan beds too they nest in the middle.
Also its a big problem if you have floor boards and laminate floor, because they get in the cracks and hide.
I bought a fantastic flea spray from my vet, because the bombs dont kill them all, you have to remove all animals from the house wear a mask because its a bit smelly, and spray!!! You need to spray everything, all corners and edges of the carpet, curtains, sofas under the sofa, it doesn't work on bedding thou! You also have to close all the windows when you spray and then go out and enjoy yourself for the afternoon, come back open the windows and all done no more fleas.
It last for 6months, kills all living fleas and stops eggs developing,
I used it twice and haven't had a problem since
great stuff!!!
good luck i know how you feel
Its called Acclaim household flea spray, you can buy it from www.petfleas.co.uk or your vets should have it!

Poor kitties....giving away the kitties is not the solution. You can still have fleas regardless if you have pets or not. They are carried in the house by you but more if you have pets.
Bombing helps but will not eliminate them you need to start with the outdoors where they live. With the pets all you needed to do was buy some Frontline and you would no longer have the problem of them carrying them in. You can't do that for yourself so you just abandoned some kitties for no good reason.
Shame!!!

You need to be vacuuming, and tossing out the bags.
If you've bombed the house, you've killed the fleas, but often the eggs live through it.
If it gets cold enough, everything but the eggs outside will die.
I have a cat who is allergic to fleas and to topical flea treatments (she can wear most flea collars, though) so I understand this- since one flea bite is enough to send her to the vet.
Make the cats not a happy place for fleas to live and keep vacuuming and tossing the bag (or, if bagless, rinsing your filters and dustbins in your vac) as well as bombing when needed.
I had a house in Philadelphia that I moved my cats and family out of because the neighbor refused to treat his house for fleas and they kept coming back again and again. I really hope that is not your problem.

Fleas are really tough in any weather.
Now that you had bombed your rooms. I would get a bottle of Tea tree oil ( not sure if you can get over where you live. I am from down under and we have plenty. Thursday plantation has 100% tea tree and dilute with water 10 drops to 50mils of water in a spray bottle and spray on the carpet and clean your place well. even the bottle say poison a little will not harm your animals. I put tea tree in the bath for mine.
Good Luck.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

Cold weather most definately kills the outdoor fleas, but the trouble is they know it's coming and try to come inside..

hot hot hot. use the hottest water to wash your bedding. hot water kills them. very very cold does too. but hot water is the best. my house was once infected with fleas and it does drive you crazy. wash in hot water with soap. they might have flea soap. also make sure you vacuum all the time. to get the dead ones up. they might still have eggs inbeded in the carpet or where ever. good luck those things suck you might want to get whatever you can to put on the couches they have stuff for that.

You need to treat the pet or you will just get reinfested. Cold weather does not kill fleas.

no- they just find somewhere warm to live like your house or your pet. frontline has a flea spray that doesn't cost as much as the individual dose. it works great.
