Some cats do that because they are stressed about something and then it could be ill. So to be on the safe side ALWAYS take your cat to the vet when something is going on that is NOT normal.
Cats are very good at hiding when they are injured or sick so ANYTIME they are doing something that is not normal it is a sure sign that they need help or meds.
If it caused because of stress the best thing to do is buy some Feliway and/or Rescue Remedy to help alleviate the stress and keep the kitty calm.

Most of the time when this happens it is flea allergy. Since it only takes 1 bite to start the process, even if you see no fleas and use frontline or advantage or flea collars, it can still occur.
If it occurs over large parts of the body, it can lead to shock and/or death (I have a cat with the most severe form of it.)
Take the animal to the vet- the vet will be able to tell (usually using a blue light) whether it is flea allergy, a fungal infection or just the cat ripping its hair out, and give appropriate prescriptions.

Take it to the vet, it could be an allergic reaction to a change in food, cat litter or could be something more serious. The cat is obviously very uncomfortable so get it checked out.

Hi I would take your cat to the vet, he could have ringworm, it is infectious but it can be cured. Its not a worm its an infection on the skin, cat's catch it because they fight. But it really irritates them so the sooner you take it to the vets the better.

It sounds like your cat has emotional problems. Take it to the vet and have it checked for a physical problem though.

You cat is either very stressed about a change in its life or it has a skin condition. Either way you should take him/her to the vet.

Yes definitely to the vet.
I would also give her massage on her back and cuddle her and give her your attentions. She is telling you something. Poor kitty, she can't talk and that's the only way to tell you that she needs help..
Please help her quick.
Good luck..
