Well you first need a recipe and the tools used to cook what you want to cook. When you are baking something (like a cake, cookies, etc..) you need to have the measurements and ingredients pretty much exact otherwise the item wont turn out. Casseroles, and items of that nature arent so strict in the ingredients and measurements. One good website for beginnner bakers is www.bettycrocker.com.....there are tons of recipes and I think a few tutorials. Also www.kraftfoods.com is another with recipes and tutorials. Good luck!

Baking is done in a oven, you need to know this. When you decide to bake something turn the oven on before you get the recipe going.A oven needs to be pre-heated to cook at the degrees on the recipe.Just check the recipe and see at what temp the oven needs to be set---FIRST.I started baking and always forgot to pre-heat the oven, it takes longer for the recipe to come out. Then just follow the recipe and be sure to check the size of the pan you need for each recipe.Good luck, it isn't hard once you do it a few times....Happy Baking.

Don't be afraid to ask.....you learn by asking. Go get books at the library about baking or read online. Start with very simple things. If you read the recipe and feel overwhelmed, try another. Be very precise with your measurements and times. Sometimes a little more of this or that is just not good.
My favorite "teaching" tool is to watch cooking shows on FOod Network. You get to see how the chef/cook handles themselves, and get a lot of pointers.

I think that you should go and buy a "big" name cookbook, such as Betty Crocker. In that type of cookbook, there are many helpful hints for cooking and baking. Thumb through a few books of that type at the bookstore before you buy. When you cook, food is more forgiving than when you bake. Be precise with your measurements, follow the directions for the recipe carefully (such as preheating the oven, "pack" down brown sugar when measuring, don't "pack" down flour, etc.). Good luck!

baking is pretty easy...and you bake pretty much anything...my favorite food to bake is chicken..its simple and easy...you might want to marinate you chicken for a better taste after baking...let your chicken marinate for 5-7 hours..then use a large glass dish or you can use a metal dish as long as it is deep.....place you chicken in side and put a little butter on top of each piece of chicken...also the marinara sauce you used you can pour a little pit of that in the dish to bake with the chicken and a little bit of water ( a little bit) set your oven for about 375 and let it bake check on it about every 5 -10 minutes. you might want to scoop the some of the sauce from the dish and glance it over the chicken or you might want to turn the chicken over too. let the chicken bake for about 30 mins...or until it is very tender and slightly brown or more of a tan color....if you need another recipe or more detail on this just email me
