Bad diet, lack of cleanliness or maybe its just down to hormones!

I'd say there are two main causes, diet and hormones.

Can't do much about hormones (if you female - the pill helps).
You can only really tackle the diet side of it. So drink loads and loads of water, eats loads and loads of fruit and veg, take Zinc, Vitamin B & E tablets and avoid fatty, greasy and sugary foods.

Also, change pillow cases every night, tie hair back from face and avoid touchng the spots as this only spreads them.

The cause is easy, it's your body producing exess selbum which cloges pores and causes spots. The treatment is a different story. Just try to drink plenty of water, eat properly and get out in the sun whenever you can.

Okay, if you mean bodily spots, than the reason for them are being: bodily toxins, excrete through our liver, and sometimes our skin, therefore making spots, skin migmentations on the face and hands. The elderly get them alot. As well as some people who have excess toxins in their bodies. I take a vitamin called "Milk Thistle, with Dandellion, & Yellow Dock in it....And when I had a liver disorder, (in which the doctor's prescribed medication, almost killed me, I opted to get off of it), and began taking this particular above vitamin, well when I went back in for my monthly check-up, he said whatever, it is your doing, it is completely "GONE!!!" So keep up what it is your doing, to get rid of it...See, the Medical Profession never, suggest's, or prescribes supplements, or vitamins as an "Alternative" because the medical profession's, and the Pharmacy's have investments in one another's practices. So, everyone gets a "Cut" so to speak!!! So, why push something they are not going to make money off of, you know. Well I am completely delivered & healed from my liver disease!! And I give God all of the Glory, for that!! I had alot of people praying for me!! So, for the rest of my life I'll continue to take this vitamin, its well-worth, every penny I spend on it!!! And it isn't just for people with liver disorders either. It restores, the liver, completely, back to as "Good as New", for anyone!!! It even says on the bottle, it restores the liver!! So, for people who drink, occasionally or even once in awhile, I highly recommend this vitamin!!! Smile!!! Oh, or even for people with spots!!! Because its so "Effective" I wouldn't be surprised if it even gets rid of those liver spots!!! I'd almost promise you this!! here's the phone # to order some!!! 1-800-437-4148, and you can call 24/7!!! Its through "Swanson" vitamin company. The item # is Q5SW1052, and request a magazine, and tell them that Christina Kelley referred you, so maybe I can get a discount next time. That would be nice, hoh!! I dont know if I'd get a discount or not, but just give them a "Jingle" !! Good luck to you, hun!! Smile!!!

Excess oil in the skin. The oil can be brought into excess from almost everything, from fatty foods to the environment. You need to find what and when you are more prone to spots, then you can eliminate that from your life, and in turn eliminate spots.

Do you mean acne? If so, many causes, primarily bacteria. Used to work for a dermatologist, learned a lot about acne. Keep your skin clean and use OTC topical agents or see a dermatologist for stronger stuff. Good luck.
