Became friends with a lady about 6 months ago trying to help her with relationship issues. During this time, we did alot of fun things together and enjoying each others company. When we were together, I would do little things to try and lift her spirts and let her know people do care about her. But, I maintained the "friend" relationship we had. For Valentines I may have done to much; teddy bear, lit candles, flowers, and cards as a surprise when she walked in her door. She seemed to have liked what I did and as I was leaving came out and said "thank you." Which I replied, your welcome. The next evening, she called (I sleeping) and left a message with my daughter again saying thanks. The next day (Thur.) when I saw the message, I called her back and left a message. Friday, I called work and she answered and we talked a bit. Saturday, I took my kids skiing, did not take my friend because she told my daughter she didn't think he would go...still have not heard back from her?

Additional....right now, I don't feel now is the right time to start a relationship with her because her heart is not open to it based on just ending her last relationship. Also, not sure if I want to take a chance on loosing a friend.

May be she got scared. You, with your children, thinking that you migt have been fancing her and with those valentine gifts you meant to give her a clue what comes next.

Difficult! Both of you seem to be enjoying the company of the other, but scared of getting too deep.

Well, you have to ask yourself, what do you really want. Just friendship or much more, and take the right move to assure her of your intention, allying her fears if she show any.

All the best!/

if you like her, which it sounds like you do, cos friends dont make such a effort on Valentines...if they just friends, you should tell her. It would help if you knew if she was interested.... if you dont want to tell her just yet, just give her a call, see how she is doing, dont mention anything.... ask if you guys could meet up? and then see how that goes.
If you dont like her like that, then you should be straight forward with her.
