How long should you wait after perming to a) wet your hair and b) wash your hair for the first time? I've heard 48 hours for both because of the PH in the shampoo. Also when is it safe to colour the hair with permanent colour? Is 2 weeks enough?

Wait at least 2 days to wet or shampoo your hair. Water, not the shampoo is what interferes with the bonds. Many people think it's ok to wet your hair as long as you don't wash it, but this isn't true. Getting wet before 48 hours may relax your curl and/or make it frizzy. As far as coloring, you can use semi-permanent as soon as 2 days after your perm. If you need permanent, and your hair is in good enough condition for both chemical services, it's best to wait at least a week. Make sure you are using a good deep conditioner to keep your hair healthy.

utilizing conditioner closes the cuticle on the hair, hence no longer allowing the perm answer to penetrate the interior layers of a unmarried hair strand in-order to break down the salt bonds of the hair. at the same time as the salt bonds spoil down this makes it conceivable for the hair to bend, arising an "S" formation to the size of perm rod used and required time of processing.....the nutralizer then stops the chemical recation of the perm answer which in turn reforms the bonds.

you can wet your hair so that you can restyle it, you just have to wait for shampooing for 48 hrs. two weeks is the usual for waiting to color it, I would make sure to go to a professional though so you don't ruin your hair. especially cuz you already have chemicals in it

wait 1 day before washing it, and wait 2 months to dye your hair, perming and colour could cause alot of damage to wait few months before colouring it
