First day of class today! I want to make new friends, but am VERY SHY. I also look very young for my age, so I will look younger than my classmates even though I'm older. How can I make friends with them and introduce myself? I'm very nervous
By the way, I'm a guy and in college.

look there is no problem college isnt like high school:)
just be ur self & i am sure u will be ok.....dont be shy, just try & u will fine .
looking younger or older there isnt any problem at that :)
why it isnt a problem as there is many studends there, may be u look younger than other but trust me u will find some one that looks younger than u although he/she is older than u .
u can introduce ur self by saying normal phrases like hi..how r u?...i am Etiquette.....etc
& i think u can make friends easily as when u join college u dont take with u ur old friends sooooo u will have alot of classmates that r just like u dont have friends in the college so they will try 2 know others
remember just be ur self,i am sure that u have a brilliant mind as u r in the college so let it appears, be confident of ur self ,friendly as possible .
& also remember & keep it in ur mind when u r in the college not only u wanna make friends .....not only u feels nervous ..
i felt nervous on my first day in the college but sooner i felt more better...................

Look for common ground. If you are interested in theater seek out others interested in theater. That way you will have a topic to talk about and the conversation will flow easily and naturally.

Be yourself. Be cheerful, and try not to look too unsure. Take the initiative and talk to someone first without expecting someone to talk to you.

Just be yourself dude. people who end up being your real friends dont judge you with a magnifying glass. be yourself. people like that.
but ofcourse being confident woudnt hurt. just walk up introduce yourself. be friendly. but i am sure u already are.

open up and talk to them it shows you have a great personality.
