I just broke up with my guy and am thinking of getting into another relationship with an old friend of mine

one advantage is that you might be getting your mind off your old guy for a while. your friend will be distracting you by keeping you company and trying to fulfill your desires. by the same token, it will be unfair to your friend since you are unconsciously or consciously using him to forget about your old boyfriend. you will never be ready for a new relationship until you have some closure on the old one. Give yourself time to heal. One day you will realize that you are no longer losing sleep over thinking about him. Or you have finally erased his cell phone number on your phone book or even thinking about him less. then you could get involved with somebody else. You will never erase him completely of your memories but it won't hurt as much as before. Give yourself time. And also be fair to your friend by telling him that you just got out of a relationship and need time to heal. good luck.

the pros are u will have someone new and can do differant stuff with but the cons are that that person might remind u of the guy u just broke up with and u will start missing him and the relationship want work. So take it slow for now dont rush into another relationship if u still have feelings for ur ex. Take care

From my experience, it does not work. Theres too much baggage, you need to get over it properly, and spend some time figuring out who you are and what you want out of life. Single life has it's perks thats for sure. Why rush a good thing. Also i tend to think that it's not a good idea to go backwards, but forwards, but thats just from my experience, everyones different. Go with your gut feeling is all I can say. All the best.

Good part is you won't really have time to think about your old boyfriend and you can keep yourself occupied the bad thing is you don't want a rebound relationship they never work out.

Any and all issues you had in the previous relationship will be dragged into the new one........Do yourself a favor and lay low for awhile.

with an old friend is a bad idea.
if you do, it may be like a rebound to you.
do you want to risk losing an old friend for a rebound??
sure, go out with someone, but make it someone you don't mind risking for a rebound.

if you think that you can go out with them without it being like that, go for it, but if not, get over the ex first, and then go after the one that you really want.
