I think it depends on genetics my son will be 6 in May and he is only 40in tall

116 cms =46 inches 102cm=40in 128=50 inces

I just took my 6-year old son in for a routine well-care visit the beginning of this month, where they checked his height and weight. He was 45 inches tall and 45.75 pounds, which put him at the 50th percentile (average height and weight) according to the chart his pediatrician uses.
His pediatrician or your GP will be able to tell you how your son compares to other children his age in height and weight.

I don't know really. I have a 6 year old girl and she is 49 inches tall,but she is tall for her age too.

That varies greatly.My 7 year old son is 4'4"(52 inches),which is tall...but I ,his mommy,am a 6 ft. tall amazon!
