It depends only on whether they are tolerant people or not. If they are, it's all ok.

No problem from this end. I'm an atheist and I've got plenty of Christian friends I like and respect (even if some of their ideas are pretty kooky - so long as they don't start on them). I'm married into a Jewish family and some of my in-laws are fairly religious - with no animosity on either side. I know a few Muslims and get on perfectly with them, and there are scatterings of other religions I get on fine with. It just takes acceptance and tolerance.

Of course. I'm a theists and I have atheist friends. It's their choice not to believe. I cannot force anybody to believe in something if they do not want to, and I respect people who respect my opinions

Yes. I'm an atheist, most of my friends are theists, and rarely is religion an issue for us. If anything, we have some very spirited discussions on the subject.

My Mother was a Atheist, and she heaped contempt on me as often as possible, I wouldn't expect different from any other Atheist, so to answer your question: No a Christian, and an Atheist could not be friends. With the Atheist having respect for the Christian !

Yes, if the individuals are tolerant people. You can respect a person and their views, even if you don't see eye to eye on everything. After all, conservatives and liberals can be friends, right?

Yes. I have several catholic and muslim friends. I am an atheist. We just don't shove our ideas down each other's throats - mostly because we have the same goals, but also because we made a conscious desicion to respect each other's values and ideals.

I wouldn't say probable, but possible. I used to think not, but in light of some new information, I've had to re-examine my position on it.

Unless atheists focus on what is important in relationships and demonstrate tolerance, theists will never see that atheists are just as capable of having and showing love, compassion, morality, and peace as they are.

Yes. As long as respect is there. I will never repect the view itself, by I will respect the owners right to have it. vise versa. I like atheists that will have a conversation with me that doesn't lead to name calling. That pisses me off, and is intellecually boring.
