Knowing something you know but believing is something you have felt:)

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.

I believe there is a north pole because of the evidence I see and hear, I know there is a Texas because I live here. I know people exist because I see them everyday, I know ghosts exist because I have seen a few and even had one yell at me, I beleive in the goddess and God because I see the evidence of their existence everyday.

Knowing is having personalknowledge of that in which you knw, believing is just a faith in something that cannot be explained or proved, but when you have seen something that cannot be explained or poved, you know even though others do not, but it could be that you are not in touch with reality either.LOL I have been told that many times when I tell people I know ghosts exist.*

To some people there is no difference. They are unable to differentiate between the two.

For me, believing is something with little evidence to back it up. Knowing something is from past experience from doing something, or having evidence to support such concepts.

In truth,, not much.To the mind what one believes is also what one knows. The world is only a few neurons firing. What ever the brain translates the things the body encounters into is what the world is.

All is subjective.

first of all in this day and age, the two words have become confused. Belief = Faith

here is an example:

I know I should get out of debt. I have faith that by God's grace I will.

I think that knowledge is potential, and belief is Kinetic

I would have to say, Believing is a feeling withough evidence, For example you could believe that your wife was cheating on you. But you don't know until you actually see it going on. Then you would Know for sure if she was. But until you have proof, you can only believe.

The two words are very close. Knowing often means more of understanding, and believing often refers more to trust, as in be willing to put your whole weight on that (rope, chair, or whatever)

Nothing really just they accompany each other. If you believe that Jesus is the savior of the World then you should know he is and if you know he is then you believe he is.
