Michelle Wie is now nursing a broken wrist suffered while jogging and don't get me started on the psychological implications. With every tournament her detractors arguements grow stronger that Wie is a product of over-hyped marketing. At one time it was advertised that Michelle could consistantly drive over 300 yards with the men until it was demonstrated she was dead last in PGA events she entered and not even among the elite LPGA female players in driving. Moreover, the harder she attempts to swing the more time she spends among the rocks and cactus in Palm Desert and the adjacent fairways in her home state of Hawaii.
If her driving was exaggerated her putting is atrocious. Through it all, Michelle has a "happy response" for everything as if a professional LPGA tournament with major sponsership is a simple learning environment in which every round is a practice round to get her teenage game to a higher level.
Please: As a woman who enjoys the game I would be the first to admit that a legitimate competitor like Paula Creamer or a determined and sometimes emotional Morgan Pressel are worth a thousand Michelle Wie's.

Michelle Wie hasn't yet established herself as a constant threat on the LPGA tour. Some one like Paula Creamer who is also younge has a winning career on the tour. Wie got a lot of press because she was so much younger and that she can drive the ball as far as the average PGA tour player. Now that she keeps losing on the LPGA tour and performing so poorly on the PGA tour she isn't getting the attention that she used to. She is getting older and is not winning so she is becomming less of a press story.

the same thing that happened when Kelli Kuhne (sp) signed with Nike...nothing, she of the 13 year old hitting 300 yard drives is now about to turn 18 and has won nothing, made a cut on the mens asian tour (big whoop) and has gotten from where she missed a cut on the mens tour in hawaii by 1 stroke years ago,to where she is shooting in the mid 80s and scraping bottom and telling the press' im not playing that bad but I didnt score well, im getting closer'...she hasnt learned how to close out, and even in her last US womens amateur, did not win...she played well in getting a few placings in womens majors the last two years but overall the level of her play had declined before last season ended...the firing of her caddy by telephone and the constant overmatching , attempting to make the cut on the mens tour shows how poorly she is being handled by her father and whoever else makes the decisions for team Wie...

I think she is the victim of her parents over-achieving expectations. She should compete at a level where she can build on her successes, not at a level where she is becoming accustomed to being a loser. She belongs in the LPGA, not in the PGA.
Given that, she's still making a fortune!

I think her making the PGA was more hype than anything. She's young. She should play the LPGA for a while and try again later.

She's nursing a broken wrist right now but she'll be back and (hopefully) concentrating on the LPGA. If she does that, she'll be fine. Don't forget, she's still a kid and a very talented kid at that.

She's sitting at home crying about not making a cut on the PGA and not winning on the LPGA.
