It makes me so mad when people do that. Then, there isn't the space for people that really need it. I use to work for a woman and her husband, and her husband had his legs amputated. I had to give him rides to and from work before when his wife had to go out of town and he needed to stay there so he could work. (Well, supervise). Getting a heavy wheelchair out of a trunk and holding the wheelchair still while he scooted into it was hard enough. Not to mention they were alot older than me. I think it would really irritate me if I was them and people parked in the handicapped spots. At least with the handicapped spot, it's that much further they don't have to go to get into the store.

There are also the parking spots for expectant mothers. I used that spot often when I was pregnant, but a lot of times it was taken by teenagers. Or elderly people. Should I have put a rude note on their windshield as well? I don't think so, but I try to avoid confrontations. If you like to mix it up and fight a bit, go for it. But, you may embarrass yourself.
Had a friend in high school with a broken ankle and a sprained ankle. He could hardly walk, but couldn't get issued a Handicapped sticker. Should he have to park at the far end of a parking lot because a govt. official didn't think he needed it?

Not mean at all! People who park there when they don't need to are jerks.... be sure that they don't have a handicapped card though; my dad had a heart condition that made it very hard for him to walk any distance, however the first dozen steps or so you didn't see anything different about him. Not all disabilities are easy to spot from a distance, check for the permit.

I saw a man pull into a handicap parking spot at a retail store, get out, and RUN into the store!! I was way past mad because I am a disabled person and I was trying to park there and he shot in it. Once I found a spot I went into the store and reported the incident. I don't know if anything was done about it. Healthy people got no business using Granmas decal when she is NOT in the car with them but they do it as if just having it gives them the right too 24/7 and it's wrong.

If they do not have a handicap placard hanging from the window or some sort of designation on their license plate, go right ahead and do it!! You know what's really sad is perfectly able-bodied people will borrow a friend/relative's placard or car so that they may park in a handicap spot. It's nothing but pure laziness!

I think people that park in handicapped spots illegally should become handicapped themselves!! Karma!!
My daddy had a major stroke 12 years ago and was completely paralyzed on one side is now able to walk and has a handicapped sticker but parks elsewhere just in case someone worse off needs the spot. It pisses me off that people who don't even need the spot will take it over my daddy!
Lazy SOB's!!!

People who disregard handicap parking designation have a handicap worse than any other. They are morally challenged. Perhaps we should make up a card just for them and place it on their windshields to help them understand who they are.

It isn't mean, but it's a waste of your time & energy. Think about it: if they are rude enough to use a parking place they should not be using, some little note is not going to make a dent in their conscience. Inform the store that they should really check up on their spaces more often.

No, just be sure that they are truly not handicapped. Several members of my family help to transport my disabled daughter to appointments, etc. but we don't all have a "handicapped" sign to go with it. My daughter was issued one and its in her husbands car, she can't carry it with her and she wouldn't want to have remember where she put it, so it stays in one place.
I often wonder what people think because I don't have the sign, but I do have the wheelchair she's getting into. Be kind, not all signs of disability are visible.
