Yes, yoga can help you lose weight and a lot of the moves will help tone your stomach. A lot of moves focus on core strength, so your stomach is the center of your core.
One hour a day is great, but you may want to mix in some cardio 3 times a week to help speed up your metabolism. Yoga will tone your whole body and it's great. I've been practicing Yoga for over 7 years and I can't recommend it enough.
You should start to feel changes in your body (feel muscles) in the first one to two weeks. You will probably start seeing the results in about a month. Measure yourself with a tape measure, it's a better indicator of getting smaller, much better than a scale.

Yes. I have been doing yoga for a long time. It focuses on core strenghth, so for legs you will need to do other excercise. Try walking and try to use stairs instead of elevators. Once you have been doing yoga for a while, you will want to add other exercise and reduce your yoga time so that you are getting a more balanced workout. Yoga is a great beginning in getting fit and toned as it is a gentle way to get fit but once you have gotten to a certain point, you will want to work on legs and arms more so you will need other forms of exercise as well.

The Best Way I discovered to reduce weight and stay fit is (I am 20):
I became vegetarian 5 years back.
I dnt eat rice, potato and bread.
I dnt have snacks in between meals.
I eat Pizzas, Noodles, Pani puri, Paneer etc. on occasions only.
I avoid sugar in any form…if I get a craving have a fruit.
I have a glass of Luke warm with Lemon before or after 30 min of ur meal.
Walk up short distances and keep breathing and pulling ur stomach in everytime you are free.
D’nt Diet…..yes D’nt Diet bcz after that period you will eat more and gain double of the kgs you lost.
Eat when u feel like but breakfast and Lunch is a must … on time.
“Eat to Live… D’nt Live to Eat”
Hope it helps you as it helps me.

No.
Yoga is useful for maintaining strength and flexibility, but does virtually nothing about fat. Fat is stored calories.
To burn calories you need exercise that elevates your heartrate. Your cardiovascular system is what delivers oxygen to your muscles. An elevated heartrate is an indication that your muscles are working and need more oxygen to burn fuel (calories/glycogen).
As for the thighs and stomach, fat is stored calories. When you eat less than you burn, your body turns to stored fat to function. You don't get to choose what fat gets used first. Generally, it comes off all parts of the body more or less evenly. Spot reducing, i.e., doing an exercise targeted at a specific body part to reduce fat in that area, IS A MYTH.
Keep up the yoga, but if losing fat is your goal, you need significant (hour plus per day) aerobic exercise nearly every day also.

Honey....
people will give you all sort of crap.... capsules, yoga, VLCC but just remember.....
what you eat will either be burnt as energy/passed off as waste/stored as fat
If you eat more than what you can burn you'll get fat.......period.
yoga may help indirectly only if: -
your eating habit has gone for a six due to stress...... and yoga can help you relax.
I personally don't see any other reason....... If someone says yoga improves your metabolism...... I guess yoga improves your digestion as well ..... neutralizing the benefit...???
Obese people are known to be slow movers and less active.... so get on to your toes...... move around be active.....
going out for an hour of evening walk is bull s-h-i-t if you sit around like a dead wood all day. Haven't you seen fat people go for walks daily and not reduce.
Run..... climb stairs..... walk uphill/downhill.... one of the best exercises.
Swimming is only good if you're bad at it..... coz soon all you're going to do is float around and complete laps without exerting yourself.
Dieting is bad..... unhealthy....
You miss a breakfast and your body begins to gears itself for possible starvation ..... it slows down your metabolism and also makes you less active...... Hell..you may work just as hard after missing a breakfast but.... you'll probably not get up from that chair of yours that often or wave you hand or nod you head
BTW ultra thin is unhealthy especially for ladies and is out of fashion..... probably slim will also loose it importance soon. Healthy is in.....
Take care

Yoga increases flexibility and circulation. For weight loss, you should do cardio. Walking/Jogging up hill is great for reducing fat in thighs. When one can expect to see results depends on the person and their body type. The average person should see results in 3-4 weeks.
