would the church leaders have him thrown in prison?

That's who arrested him 2000 years ago for upsetting their carfully contrived religion.

Please state your continent in your reply.

I am from the United States, and I truly think that if Jesus arrived today, IF he wasn't beaten and murdered before the church ever heard of him, (and I say this not because I have a hatred, but because nowdays, you look at someone wrong, or try to tell them how they should live their life, they very well may try to kill you) that the church would do theirvery best to lock him up and find a way to prove that he was not Jesus.

The people who depended on the version of Jesus that provides them with a substantial income - Robertson, Hinn, Haggard, that scum - would denounce him as false and demand his arrest. Being an atheist, of course, we're talking about the impossible, which is a dead man coming back to life after 2000 years, but hypothetically, if the real Christ COULD return, it would be the best thing ever if he could open up the earth under Robertson's feet and have Satan's hand reach out, grab him round the neck and drag him screaming into molten rock.

What? Fantasy is the source of all religion. I can fantasize, can't I?

Oh, I'm in godless Europe, btw. (Godless UK in particular.)

I'm sure they would because the message that Jesus originally taught is almost a polar opposite of what passes for Christianity in this part of the world today.

It makes you wonder if after he was executed someone would notice what had happened and start another religion around it.

Perhaps in a few hundred years people would be wearing Little silver electric chairs on chains around their necks.

North America, and you bet they would.
They would shut Him down, tune Him out, deride Him, treat Him like He was an oddball.
But not all would do that.
Those among us that are His sheep, know His voice...and these would follow Him.
There is, however ALOT of man-made organizations that are so busy doing the work of the Lord, that they have forgotten the Lord of the work!

Good question. Lots of people wonder what would happen if Jesus walked the earth. I think our government would disect him for studies. Me I am afraid I will fall for the false messiah, so hopefully Jesus does not make his return so secret when he does come.
