This is my opinion, and others will probably disagree. Save your money, go to God, and let him renew your mind, personality, and emotions. Trust me, the Lord can do it without meds and people with degrees.

No matter what counselor, social worker, psychiatrist, or psychologist you see, they will all have their own label and diagnosis. Most of them apply labels based on what they've been taught, but mostly on their own personal beliefs and opinions.

Humans are imperfect, make mistakes, and can not see the heart and spirit of others. So why put your lives in their hands? People can not show you how to be the best person you were meant to be. Only the one who created you has the answers.

Matthew 19:26 says: What is impossible with men, is possible with God. I am proof this is truth!!!

Everything you've described in it's many forms is FEAR. The Bible has over 300 scriptures that speak of the dangers of living in fear, and how it originates. Fear is the greatest weapon used by Satan, because it prevents you from knowing who you really are in Christ. That is the point!!!

If you go to a professional, they will find a fancy label without little improvement for you. Why? Because they do not have the ability to heal. Humans can not heal you!!!!!!

I was told I had social phobia, possible ptsd, agoraphobia, and other ANXIETY labels depending on what professional I was seeing at the time, and neither of them, along with different meds helped. I wasted time, money, effort, and hope with the mental health community FOR YEARS. If I had only known!!!

I took it to God, and he has healed me. It didn't take years, nor did it cost me an arm and a leg, along with side effects from meds. Things I was never able to do before, I do now without any effort...it just happens naturally. Years I sat around almost paralyzed and immobile due to fears, and now I'm bold, outspoken, and getting stronger each day.

Again...it did NOT take years. God has supernatural power, and is not limited by earthly laws, or the limits of humans. I've had past counselors tell me they've never seen someone with my previous level of long term anxiety make such a dramatic improvement before. They keep asking what I did, or who I saw, convinced I must have went to another therapist, found a medication that works, or purchased the latest new age book.

I smile and simply say: GOD.

2 Cor 5:17-Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

The Bible is filled with scriptures which tell us that God is our COUNSELOR, to stop living in the PAST, and to remember that the Lord can put within us a new heart and renew our personalities.

Even after the Lord healed me, I disobediently still searched for support groups, because I felt I needed to be around those with the same problems to make sure I wouldn't fall back into my old fears and behaviors. Huge Mistake!! When God heals, he renews you completely...it's not an emotional band-aid.

Stay away from support groups, message boards, and other settings where people sit around discussing their problems, the past, and how they want to get better. Those places actually limit many people, and prevent you from growing in ALL areas. They can be enablers, and cause you to focus on what you don't want.

I learned this the hard way!!!

What saddens me is that many people will go to a therapsit for decades, and eventually when they feel a "little" better, while taking meds, they give the counselor credit. It never occurs to them, that in time one can improve themselves that much.

But with God, he HEALS and takes away the pain, and it doesn't take years. If you want to just manage your symptoms, and improve your situation, the mental health community can help you. If you want to be completely free of the bondage and stronghold of fear, only God can do that for you.

Truth be told, most counselors have more problems than their clients, and do not have a clue how to help the people they see. Some are better than others, but most are just professional guessers who treat with their fingers crossed, hoping that something works.

All the CBT techniques therapists use, are described in the Bible, but few people take the time to read the Bible. Psychology is not an exact science, similar to our other laws of gravity etc. So therapists can't "guarantee" anything. However, no law, no science, is above God. Everyone has natural fear and anxiety, such as when it comes to physical harm, or if you're being attacked, etc. But if fear overwhelms you and has you to the point you're unable to leave your house, that is a SPIRIT.

2 Timothy 1:7 - God does not give us a spirit of timidity or fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

NOTE: If someone is dealing with a chemical imbalance which causes mental problems, such as schizophrenia that's different. Meds are required, it's no different than having diabetes and needing insulin. However, if you're dealing with emotional and psychological issues which stem from fear, unforgiveness due to past abuse, and similar problems, don't waste years with doctors. It is your heart and spirit that needs to be healed.

You have answered a lot of your own question. Having been bullied at school, never having had a job, no friends male or female, you are living in isolation. All not good. You are not interacting with anyone only your self, not healthy. Look at all the things you have listed and try to address them one at a time, take it easy as there are never any easy answers just trial and error. Have you mentioned to the doctor that you are a victim or should I say a survivor of bullying? Go out and buy yourself a bunch bag and kick a!!! You will only be hurting your own fists but getting to grips with all that anger. Little steps at a time and good luck for the future.

Personality disorders are fairly common and yes, there are good treatments for most of them. Dialectic treatment can work wonders for borderline personality disorder. You need to seek the help of a psychiatrist in order to be adequately diagnosed and to learn what the most appropriate treatment would be for the disorder that you have. There are many differences between a personality disorder and depression. Look up personality disorders online and see what information you can come up with. You don't say which personality disorder you have been diagnosed with or by what type of doctor. You should ask that doctor for details as to treatment options.

I think you need more help than we could ever offer at Yahoo Answers. You are half there, though, because you realize that you have a problem that needs fixing. You haven't said whether you have a psychiatrist. What about family? You sound very intelligent and straight forward with your question. Try to see a doctor. In the meantime my heart is with you and I am praying that you will get well soon. You are too young to be spending your life that way. God bless.
