At the moment I'm eating half a grapefruit before breakfast, lunch and dinner (it's supposed to be really good for you). But I've heard eating 6 small meals a day is better than eating 3 but I'm wondering how can I fit the grapefruit in? If i add it before breakfast lunch and dinner than the meal cant be called small

One half of a large grapefruit contains 53 calories. If you are on a 1500 calorie diet and are trying to split your meals up among six smaller meals, you'll want to aim for 250 calories per meal. If you are eating lean and smart, the addition of a half grapefruit to three of the meals should not be a problem. For example, for breakfast you could have the following and still be around 250 calories:

1 half large grapefruit
1 cup skim milk
1 whole egg (including the yolk) and two egg whites scrambled

This is 269 calories.

Lunch might look like this:
3 oz grilled or roasted chicken breast
1/2 cup brown rice
1/2 cup asparagus
1/2 grapefruit

Calories: 321

You could then have a smaller snack later in the day comprised of a cup of skim milk, a scoop of chocolate whey protein powder and a grapefruit. Total calories for your snack would be: 250

Another snack might be a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with a 1/2 grapefruit. This would be around 130 calories.

I know these meals might sound a little small on paper, but you need to remember that you'll be eating every 2-3 hours, which will keep your blood sugar very stable and your hunger in check. People who switch to this way of eating find that they are more satisfied and less prone to over-eating later in the day. Your energy level -- whether you are eating grapefruit or not -- will also improve dramatically.

Best of luck!

Well Skim milk is good for you. But it doesnt mean im going to drink a litre before each meal.

You dont need to eat grapefruit before each meal.
You probably dont need to eat it 3 times a day.

If you really want to eat it then eat the grapefruit for the 3 extra meals. Breakfast, grapfruit, lunch, grape...

Eat half the normal amount of grapefruit at each meal. Be creative, all that matters is the final caloric intake. Use more than you consume and weight loss occurs, eat more and weight gain occurs.

Maybe only eat 1/4 of the grapefruit. Make a conscious decision just to eat half of the half and save the rest for the next meal.

If you have 6 small meals a say, you would take the same food that you eat in three and eat it in six. The theory behind the grapefruit is that it helps you digest because of its acidity. check out the links I have attached.

that is not any longer precisely new. there grow to be a grapefruit food plan many years again. I had a pal who tried it and did lose some weight, yet no longer major quantities. Her dr. informed her that if she'd drink water in the previous food it would possibly have an similar effect. one aspect you want to concentrate of in case you do attempt it is when you're on any drugs. a number of them you need to no longer take with grapefruit juice.
