MGM Grand in Las Vegas; I got married there. Also the Maui Kai in Hawaii on the island of Maui. We had a ocean view and could see dolphins swimming in the near distance. Beautiful!!!!

I've always stayed at the Broadmoore in Colorado Springs, Co. whenever I'm in Co. (I don't care where I have business, I just like to stay there whether it's convienient or not. (Unless I'm at the Condo in Aspen)
It's just a great big Grand Old Lodge Style Hotel of the Turn of the Centry type - reminds me of the Over Look Hotel that was the setting for the Jack Nicholson Film "The Shining".
The place is steeped in tranquility and civility, one of those rare places that vibrates "VACATION" as soon as I cross the portal. It's not the latest obscenity to oppulence and over the top waste of money, and it's not just another a glorified Holiday Inn with upgraded rooms and a Slut Relative's Name on the Marquee, It's much more than a months worth of Ice cream flavors, or a tin roofed place where you can park outside your door, because they promise to leave the light on for me.
Of course I guess it all comes down to what you want in your accomodations. I like a king suite with a king sized comfortable bed, lots of goose down pillows, a feather tick, a roomy hot shower, a handicapped toilet for my back, an air conditioner - I like the rooms cold, quiet, and dark., and smoke free. Lastly no bed bugs, and a nice fresh smell, Fresh flowers and windows that open - wide. I also love a view - Mountains or Ocean, (I prefer Moutains).
It should also have:
a good restaurant / with room servce open 24/7
A nice lounge
an elevator
bell service
conceirge
car service
laundry / dry cleaning servcie
big desk
poker table & six chairs
a patio or balcony
I don't need:
a pool
a gym
a computer terminal
hot tub
whirl pool
sauna
gold hardware & toilet fixtures
steam room
whirlpool tub
two twin or queen beds
children, (I prefer an adult hotel (Hotel - not Motel)
In DC I Like the Hay-Adams or the Mayflower.

I like the Ritz. Any Ritz I stayed I enjoyed very much, I guess its worth every hundred dollar they charge. The service's quality of its staffs are great. They are all polite and efficient, from the waitress to the concierge, they are all very efficient. The rooms have a very classic European decoration and the bed's sheets are all white with silk, with a suave perfume. The flowers, are all natural. The same thing about the bathroom, white towels with great bathtubs. I don't even mention about their SPA and Sauna. Unforgettable!
I had a great experience in the Ritz of Philadelphia, because at the time of my arrival, there was just one week from its opening, and they gave me the best room in the Hotel, after I had requested a room in a high level. The room was on the top of the building, and has never been used by anyone! I was the first person to use the room, so everything was brand new.
The room right next to mine, in a little smaller room, the movie director Martin Scorsese was accommodated, a day after I had checked in the Hotel. I bet they got regret of giving to me that room , instead to him, when they realized that Mr. Scorsese was checking in.
PS: The SPA and sauna I mentioned wasn't about the Ritz in Philadelphia which I didn't have the chance to experiment.

Working in the travel industry has it's perks. Best hotel I've ever stayed in is the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is the most luxurious hotel in the world, the world's only 7 star hotel. Absolute pure oppulance, gold fittings on the doors handles and even the hinges, it is just testament to the absolute ridiculous wealth in the area. Pure over the top luxury.

I've travelled a bit and the most expensive hotel and exclusive places are usually measured by price.
If you go to this directory, for most of the main countries of the World you can find the most expensive in their category. In some areas it tends to focus more on 4 star hotels and resorts, but have a play with it anyway.
Use the sort key to find the most expensive .... you can then drill down by city and suburb.
I've put some key country links in for you to try.

Helga's Folly, Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Absolutely mad place. Kind of eccentric, gothic, fantastic. Hard to describe. Take a look at the link.
