In a sense, Yes He is.

He dictates the Sun to shine, the earth to spin, the rain to fall, the waves to crash onto the beach. And yes, He dictates us to be born into this world.

But as the Bible teaches, God chose not to be the dictator of man's heart. He gave us a free will to make any choice we want.

Some say that God gave us the power to chose but will kill us if we use it against his will.

I don't think so, I think we are all soon to be dead already and it is Gods gift of will that gives us a chance to chose to follow his will and Salvation.

He gave us freedom of choice. Not only that he gave us a life not only for survival, but for enjoyment as well. (for example, the millions of different tastes, colors, seasons etc). God does not ask permission, nor should he. He wanted to do it, so he did. But he is more like a father, than a dictator. Yes , it can be annoying when dad says, 'no you can't go to David's party,' or 'Brush your teeth,' etc, but he does this for our own good, for our own safety and well being. Would a dictator say, love your neighbour as yourself? True, God has been strict with us, but only to show us that we are doing something bad. I used to have a hard time with the fact that because Adam and Eve defied him, we all have to suffer. Why didn't he kill them right off the bat and make two others? My brother admonished me thus, "You cannot tell a lie. What you say is what you are going to do. You tell your son that if he touches the red hot iron he is going to be punished. Your son touches it. What do you do? Kill him and have another baby? Or show him that what he did was wrong by example? God to me is a father, not a dictator.

God gave man free will, which allows us to love Him or deny Him. It also allows us to sin and create the misery of the world. A lot of non-believers at this website seem to blame God for everything that's wrong, while saying He doesn't exist. That's a bit of a logic problem.

Did we ask to be created? We know we will get to join God after, but I don't think anything addresses the before, except that He says He knew is in the womb. God bless.

It is because of the darkness that God created the Creation. In a way we're the darkness. We're the blind. When we suffer we ask why. So we start to search to the reason for suffering and why life seems so evil.

Indeed it is not evil. All is lessons to be learned that we may go out of darkness and into the light.

If God hadn't created the Creation our chances of getting out of darkness were worse than now. Now we at least have a chance if we want to. Are you ready?

He is not!!!
Your point in favor of this is correct.
Actually God didn't want to create and send us to this material world. We due to our independent desires and hate towards God come to this material world.

We all are eternal spirit souls, but when we hate Krishna we look our own independent existence and so are sent to this material world.

God is not a dictator:
1. Because we our self wanted to come to this material world (to be placed in this body) http://www.bhagavadgitaasitis.com/7/27/en
2. God is always like a loving father inviting all of us back home back to Godhead http://www.bhagavadgitaasitis.com/18/66/en
"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear."

So God is not forcing anything on us and is just like a most loving father not a dictator.

You raise a good point my friend, but I cannot help disagreeing with you because I KNOW Him and He is good and kind and merciful. "Dictator" just does not fit Him.

My God is the perfect Father and I love Him above all.

I think there's a flaw in that logic. To whom would God ask permission if the creation is not yet created?
