There are two main types of rosacea. One is very common and is called R. Senilis which comes with age to some people and shows as tiny red spots on various parts of the body. This is harmless and causes no problems.
The othe is Acne Roacea and looks like a butterfly rash on the face. You may need to see a specialist if this is what you've got, but a change of diet will often help. Speak to your G.P.

It an allergy on the face which turns red.and is very irritating and it is caused by food allergies in some cases . My moms had it for years and she had to go throught all the food groups and write down everything that made her break out. Then had to remove those things from her diet.

My husband has it. You can get a low level antibiotic (doxycycline) and also creams (finacea and/or rosac). Also, wash your face with cetaphil instead of soap.

Bill Clinton and WC Fields also had this condition, and it is pretty common.
