How sweet, he is grooming you and looking for attention. Just pet him and give him a toy to play with. If you don't want to mess with that then get him a playmate and companion.
Some do it because of stress and if that is the case then buy some Feliway and/or Rescue Remedy to help relieve the stress and keep the kitty calm.
Good luck!

They're usually after the salt and oils on our skin. Evidently it tastes good to cats. Sometimes dogs will do this with the same level of obsession. Try rinsing your hands in something with a nasty taste, like bitter apple or a little bit of Alum mixed with water. Neither one is dangerous to cats but neither one tastes particularly good. If you break the habit for a few days it may just give up on the licking.

My cat licks and sucks on my family and I. If there is sucking involved and nedding (stuff kittens do) then your cat very much enjoyed it's kitty hood. The action tells you your kitty's best years was it's kitty hood and it doesn't want to forget those memories. Sometimes it gets very annoying when the cat decides to suck on you, especially when it's a full grown fat one. You Should let them do it ever once in a while though.
If not above, your cat is just cleaning you. No need to be alarmed. Cats always do that. Sometimes after they clean you they decide to bite as well. :D

Felicia

dont worry, he is just a plain moronic but lovely cat. he thinks he is "cleaning" or what humans call "grooming" your skin when in fact it feels bad coz their tounge is so rough, i mead dead rough its like sandpaper rough!!! if it bothers you so much then put some lotions/rubbing alcohol or anything that is irritating to their nose that feels good/okay with you. by doing so this will discourage him to lick you. and eventually he'll forgot his habit.

My cat does the same thing, I am assuming she is "grooming" me, like she would a kitten. Also, probably likes the salt taste of our skin.

aww he is showing you some love.. i have two cats and only one of them loves to groom me..not just my skin but if i let him my hair also! its weird...i call him mr clean sometimes...i dont think it is anything to worry about just showning some affection..i really dont think taste has anything to do with it...but if it is really freaky to you then you are right to say a firm NO! BUT i can imagine that would hurt its feelings(boo) so i dont really know what to tell you.. its all about your comfort level...good luck
