Each church is different. We paid £280 in September 2005 - that covered the following things:
Banns of Marriage
Marriage Service
Marriage Certificate
Organist
Verger
Heating (the church was a bit chilly in September)

The fees for the banns, the marriage service, and the marriage certificate are determined by Parliament each year and then your church may add any additional fees. Our church currently charges almost £360.00 in 2007.

Good Luck!

Our parish are broke, just for the Vicar and the church it was going to cost us £500! They then charge extra for bell ringers, the organist and if you're going to have photographers etc, it was going to be so much money!!! We only want to show our committment to each other so we're now having it in a registry office for less than £100!!! It's silly sometimes...go along to your local church and find out :-) Good luck!!!

Are you talking on the subject of the cost of the license? while you're, then the style of divorces would certainly bypass down through diminish style of marriages. i do no longer understand if it might impact the cost, nonetheless, through fact at $1k, it style of feels that for the duration of basic terms society's wealthier individuals would desire to have sufficient money to marry...and one million/2 of those couples would land up divorcing, meaning the cost would be unchanged. Plus, you will possibly see an develop in cohabitation.

A church is the congregations, it is YOUR church and you shouldn't be told what to pay........for official things yes if the member of the clergy arranges this for you. I am Roman Catholic. We are not asked to pay (Scotland) for the church but it is the done thing to give a donation to the priest marrying you. Certainly you pay and usually arrange yourself for flowers, organist, singer(s) etc.

Our Church charges were £475 this included heating and organ only. Flowers were extra. We were on a budget so we had a beautiful civil ceremony in a register office.

A couple of hundred quid only. I suggest getting married abroad and have a blessing back home "It's free!"
The only difference is "have taken" rather than "will take."
You still have the car, the dress, the miserable relatives and you'll be tanned on the photo's.
