I have no idea why people think this is a problem. It's only a number. There was a 23 year age gap between my mum and dad and I can honestly say that they were always very happy. The ignored all the fuss that was made about them and married when my mum was 21. They went on to have 2 children together and led a very happy life. They proved everybody wrong and everyone had to accept that they were a couple. If you love someone, what difference does it make what age they are? (As long as they're both adults, that is!)

I'm not against the age difference. What ever floats your boat, but it will effect certain things in your life so get used to it. If he is nearly 50 and you 20 what about kids ? Just thinki about some of the things it may effect.

I'm with you, to a point. But, understand this! You will be changing your outlook, on lIfe, in the coming Years. You "may" see him, differently, once you do. It's not anything bad? Just be aware that you're gonna want something, mire than what he can provide. All women, change, between 22 & 25. Just respect him? and you'll do fine. I hope you do Love him. Good Luck to both of you!

Folowing that dream and the affairs of the heart should only matter to the both of you.If anyone is upset it is because they may be envious or just too damned old to realize that this is 2007 times have changed. If you love each other who cares what others may think.

Jealousy and aesthetics (it just looks icky) and the fear for you that you are somehow being taken advantage of. That and, for the most part, these relationships don't work but hey, how many relationships with 20 y.o's do ? Enjoy it whilst it lasts.
And guilt - generally young girls that go for much older men feel they were neglected by their fathers when growing up.

I wish i knew the answer to that. I am 46 with a bf that is 27. It is very disheartening and people treat us like we are freaks. All I can say is that if you are happy screw them.

Because we realize, in our maturity, that there is something totally wrong with a man who wants to be with a girl just out of her teens. This doesn't say anything wrong about you, except you may like the "father figure" thing. It's just icky....

I am in my fifties and there is a 14 yr gap with my wife. it does not make a bit of difference. ignore those who object. they are probably jealous that you are happy.
