believe me - I truthfully have executed this direction many circumstances on diverse airlines. only fly to Washington DC on any airline you like. Hop on South African airlines and you wind up without postpone in Johannesburg or Cape city. Dont complicate the subject, if direct flights are accessible. And south African airlines is a sturdy and delicate airline. EDIT SAA flies from NYC and Washington DC on the instant to Johannesburg. Then that's only a 2 hour flight from Johannesburg to Cape city. you need to use SAA to get to Cape city, or look into diverse different airlines that would supply greater cheap expenses : Velvet Air, Mango, Khulula, OneTime, British airlines and so on...

because it's so far away from everywhere else,
and if i remember correctly still has bilateral agreements with every other country and no open skies policy so prices are influenced by a number of factors. (however double check it may not be the case)

just an idea!

Once you reach the place. You will know why..Its a destination not many people fly. less popular so more expensive. when a destination is popular, you have competition and better prices.get it. just like calling rates to international.
