What do you get people who stand up for you at your wedding?

I am getting married in June and my fiancee and I are only have a maid of honor and a best man. We are not having anyone else stand up for our wedding and we are having a hard time thinking of gifts to give them for the wedding.

Thanks.

Standing up for somebody at their wedding means being their witness. Their maid of honor or their best man. The people saying that it means objecting to the marriage are clueless.

If in doubt, verify this with your friend. "Are you asking me to be your maid of honor/best man?"

Duties are classic best man/maid of honor duties. You host the bridal shower or stag party as the case may be. You assist the bride or groom to prepare themselves on the day of the wedding. If you are the best man, you hold the wedding ring and the envelope containing the minister's payment. If you are the maid of honor, you hold the bride's bouquet while she states her vows. You make a toast at the reception. That sort of thing.

Do you mean she wants to you be a bridesmaid? Or the maid of honor? The maid of honor is the legal "witness" on behalf of the bride. The groom has a "best man" for the job. There is not much to do but fuss over the bride during the planning, help with the bridal showers and hold her hand. If you are the only witness and there are no bridesmaids you may have to sign a legal document stating that you were present and witnessed the ceremony. It is an honorable tradition that sometimes comes with a gift from the bride to you in thanks.

Ask your friend what your duties will be with what she wants you to do.

Mainly you are there to support her and make sure she does not go nuts before she walks down the aisle.

ASK HER, NOT us!

oh sad! She owes you big time. She should just call off the wedding. Tell she needs to take you on a shopping spree.

Standing up means that you don't think they should be getting married. Tell your friend that you aren't going to do her dirty work for her. Tell her to grow some balls and do it herself!

when you stand up, it means you are objecting to the marriage and disagree.

your friend doesnt love her husband and doesnt want to marry him in other words.
