he loves me to pieces and i know he would be so good to me, and i really like him - but as a mate. i have been screwed about by men in the past and really want to like this guy but i'm just not attracted to him.I have told him we are just mates,but now i think i am starting to like him, but i dont know. help!!!

Sometimes attraction isn't just physical and maybe that was part of the reason you just wanted to be 'mates' at first. But the more you got to know him, the more you became attracted to his other qualities, and now you are beginning to have feelings for him. this is perfectly normal. Just follow your heart - you already said he loves you to pieces and he's good to you. And forget the guys from the past. Every guy is different. You don't want to pass up that one great guy because a couple guys from your past were jerks. I say give it a chance. No one says you have to get married. Just date him and see if there really is something more there. You might regret it if you don't. Good Luck!
