Hey sweety, I'm sorry to say this but you can't change him. If he wants to stop smoking and drinking then he will, but trust me, if he say's he will stop and he doesn't then you need to make it clear to him that if he doesn't not stop drinking and smoking that you will break things off.....don't really break it off, but just test him to see how strong his love really is! If that doesn't work then you really need to break it off, because that means that he doesn't have enough respect for you to respect your wishes for him to stop.Let him know how serious this is to you...and then you will find resutls! If not then he is not respecting you, then again you can't expect him to change in two weeks....give him a month or two and see how honest he can be!

The time he likes drinking spend time with him and make sure does not purchase any, leaving him must never be an option coz the next you meet will have habits you dont like and the next and by the end of the year you would have dated the whole town.
Tell him nicely to have control on his drinking habits and tell him you dont like it and tell him nicely, coz people find it hard to follow harshly imposed requests.

you should never try to change the person that you are with, you are with him for a reason, what attracted you to him in the first place, and now you want to stop him from doing the things he enjoys. He will resent you for it and whats worse, if he changed for you, you may lose respect and possibly even be bored by him as he will no longer be the person you were originally attracted to.

Well, it is not going to be easy. But it depends on his own determination and courage to stop these habits. You could help him to decrease the frequency of doing these things and step by step he may succeed stoping. You should first convince him very well and then he should attempt his best for the results. May some doctors will help.

Good Luck!

You cant change someone who doesnt want to change. If he wants to give up smoking great! call the quitline together. If he wants to stop drinking great too! drink water together. But dont for one minute think you can rescue him by changing him. Besides, if he wanted to he already would have.

Why do people keep wanting to change other people. It never works. You can dress them up but they are still the same. Its those qualities that made you fall for him that count. After you drive a dirty car through the car wash sure its clean but its still the SAME car.

These two habits will destroy your relationship over time. You added "All these stuffs" does thst mean drugs too? If so don't even answer his calls, find somebody else.
I am a smoker and I wish someone took a strong stand against it many years ago.

well, in my opinion, try to talk to him and tell him that his habits are not good and is a big problem to you.or maybe, try to hire a therapist to help him with his obsessions.just like what gerard way did to stop his drinking because he was sober(drunk/drinking) for 3 years.

and if none of those work, threaten him and tell him if he dosen't stop, you'll leave him,no matter how much you love him.

don't change his old ways, that's who he was when the 2 of you became a couple so practically that's a part of the person you're with. if he really want to change let him change for himself & because he wants to. not because of your demand or because of some trade your willing to make just for him to quit his ways.
