I used to make in a mug, but either too weak or to strong, so now I have a Japanese teapot, put the teabag in, pour boiling water into pot, turn pot 3 times clockwise and then twice anticlockwise. Drunk in a small mug....Perfect!! Usually 2 cups and strength just right.

What it says on the packet usually although if you have purchased loose tea in clear bag just steep it for 4-5 mins in pot.
If tea bag left in too long you will get a much stronger cup of tea, you will still get the goodness. Steep tea bag in cup about 2 mins usually.
Green tea is not caffeine free unless you purchase decaf which is not as flavourful.
Green tea is also a stimulant and unwise to drink too much of it during the day or before bed especially if you suffer from insomnia.
Green tea can be used to kick start you in the morning as one would use coffee, the best green tea to use for this is Gunpowder Tea.
Happy Green Tea drinking - good wishes

You should leave it 7-10 minutes . At first I didn't use to leave the bag too long and there was nothing releasing from tea to water . So you should keep longer than 5 minutes . And when you see the greeny color in the glass you will understand that it worked .

I usually pour the hot water directly on the tea bag and leave it to seep for 1 minute.
I should also mention that I often reuse green tea bags. The second time, I leave it for 2 minutes

I went to "Java University" (it's basically coffee and tea 101, it's for a coffee/tea shop) and 3.5 minutes is best. You get all the best flavor from the tea. Remove it after 3.5 minutes, It will begin to get bitter from there.

We use bags. We put in the cup with cold water and bring to boil in microwave (70 seconds on ours).

I guess a couple of minutes would be about right, but it really depends on how strong you like it .... you need to experiment.
