Because you invested a lot into the relationship and a part of you could be holding onto that, but also she was probably filling some type of void in your life that you probably don't even know about (especially, if you were with her and she was a jerk). Start doing things for yourself again and just get back into yourself, learn from this experience and when you have worked out the baggage, then get back into the dating field and find someone better. There are good women out there, I promise

Because you are a sucker for punishment - as most of us are - the worse we get treated the more we seem to want him/her. But there comes a time when you do actually get over him/her and you look back and can't believe what a fool you've been. Close your heart to her and keep yourself busy elsewhere. Surround yourself with friends that will keep your mind off her.

because you still care for her and part of you wants to change her. You just have to try to move on. I'm going through the same thing with my ex boyfriend total *** but i am having a hard time getting over it.

Aren't jerks guys and gals are bi tches. Anyway, maybe you like being treated wrongly. u get some sick pleasure out of it. It could be a fetish and u don't know it. Maybe if I smack u upside the head, you'll want to make out with me instead of return the favor.

Because you invested time and emotion of your life into her that cant be retrieved. Move on and rediscover yourself then jump back into the dating scene.

because you still care about her and left things unsaid.
if you really want to get over her, you gotta meet up with her and tell her everything you feel.
once you get it all out, and you have nothing left to say, you'll get over her within a month. (max)

Give it time, a break up is always hard. Find someone better, you'll forget her completely!
Good luck!
