hi there
have you tried putting different finger food out in front of your infant??
When i had trouble i used to put sticks of cucumber, slices of banana and bread sticks amongst other things out in front of him in his high chair and in the end curiosity got the better of him and he soon started picking things up and having a taste its surprising how little they need to fill them up at this age so please dont worry if they only have a little nibble here and a little nibble there at least it is something i hope this idea helps you good luck

Sally,

Welcome to my weekend. My little girl was weighed last Friday ( shes 17 months) and had lost 11oz over the last 3 weeks. She was down to the 5th centile for weight, and the HV recommended to see a Paediatrician. Saw GP fri PM, saw Paediatrician 10.30 am Saturday.

She had been vomiting intermittently since Christmas, and a bit off her food. Teething was blamed despite the emergence of only 1 tooth.

The Paediatrician informed us that her intestines were distended( swollen), but was not anaemic. They have sent bloods and stool samples for 1. Coeliac Disease, 2. Milk intolerance

They have also said that if they rule the above out, then she might just be a sicky kid.

BTW, they measured her head circumference and height, and found all measurements to be in proportion, so her weight loss in not strictly so worrying, its just that she a petite baby.

I would recommend you get your GP to refer your baby to a Paediatrician asap. Make a stink, demonstrate that you are concerned, because my weekend was a living hell!

Only a parent knows what it feels like to go through this.

Have the same problem with my 3 year old. I got some advice the other day from a mom of 2. She said I should go to the pharmacy and ask for Mina moo... Funny but all of them know what it is!!! Anyway it is just a stimulator that makes them hungry and sure to God it is helping. My daughter is eating very well now - Try it

I would take him along to your clinic as they will give you the best advice. Also I would invest if you do not have one in a blender. Say if you mixed certain fruits with the milk the colour alone will camouflage it and at the same time he will be receiving the nutrients that he so needs. good luck, but first and foremost go the the health clinic for toddlers.

My baby goes off and on things all the time. I just keep persisting with everything and don't give up. I eventually he might take something. Otherwise I would definitely go see a doctor or a clinic nurse cos at 8 & half months your baby def. needs more in his diet

my middle child is like this, he never liked anything as a baby and isnt much better now (13) i have been out of my mind with worry but no one takes you seriously. he has lived virtually only on cereal, try readybrek or weetabix. he has just started to eat pizza and already he is growing. i can honestly say he has never sat down to a proper meal but all the doctors say is so long as he has energy and isnt losing weight dont worry.

take him to a club where he can watch children or people while eating.if ur friends have children try to let them eat infront of him at the same time u are feeding him.it works sometimes.also try some new recipe, but it's better to see ur dr.
u can visit this site,it tells a lot.registrate for free and u'll have precious info sent weekly, and u can also see many toplics about feeding,raising,playing...etc.
www.babycentre.com
good luck.

If he's losing weight, he's not getting enough nutrition. Have him checked by his peds right away to be sure there's nothing medical going on. Have you tried any organic foods and formulas? I've been using an organic formula called baby's Only Organic and my little one likes it a lot.

You need to speak to your health visitor or doctor immediately if he's that bad. There may be something going on in his stomach, he's too wee to tell you. The warning signs are there that somethings not right.
