Can't help thinking of the saying, "You can look at the menu so long as you eat at home."

Nothing wrong with "like". I'm not a single guy, but I do "like" quite a few married women who are good friends. And some of them are "funny, nice, and I have heaps in common with them" But I suspect you're talking about a level of "like" that can lead to deeper involvement, and that is tapdancing through a minefield - eventually you'll make a wrong step and then BANG!

What to do about the attraction? The key thing to consider is, what are the potential consequences if they DO something about it and then others find out - and are they willing to accept that risk and/or live with those consequences. There are already other answers relating personal accounts of such situations and the grief that has been caused to all involved. Everyone thinks that they can be the exception and either:
A) Have their "fling" and never get caught, or
B) You have both found the love of your life, the married one will walk away from their marriage and all it involves and you can live happily ever after.

"Happily Ever After" is a phrase that comes from fairy tales - how many of them do you know of that are actually true stories? That's about how many times this sort of situation ends as a "happily ever after"

Having been on both sides of the fence on this one it is very hard to find the right answer. I got involved with a married woman and her marriage broke down. Unfortunately our relationship didn't last and the infatuation appeared to ruin three peoples lives. But have also, recently, had the same done to me when a single man went off with my wife. I lost my life partner, daughter and home for nothing. I'm over it now but The hurt it caused at the time was dire, especially for our little girl. Incidentally their relationship was only short lived so no-one was a winner.

With your situation, it may be very difficult to keep clear, Even though it's wrong. In 20 years of marriage, I never strayed, but if this one lady came across like you say, I might have.

Don't see any reason why you should see this liking or not a problem. Problem only starts when you begin to get funny ideas.
