on sunday morning i noticed i had a tiny spot on my upper lip that was slightly sore but as the day went on the spot got bigger,i applied some zovirax cream before i went to bed thinking it was a coldsore i had...even tho ive never had a coldsore before.when i woke up on monday morning my lip was swollen to twice its normal size and was really painful and there was a patch of pus...i went to see the nurse at my doctors clinic and she said it just looks like a really bad coldsore and i was told to continue with the zovirax cream which i did then when i woke up this morning my lip had swollen even more(spreading across my whole top lip)...it has got so bad that i can hardly eat, drink or speak....which isnt so good as im 33 weeks pregnant with twins so i have to eat and drink...the pain has also got worse and also there is a burning sensation.Any way i hope someone can tell me what this might be as im starting to get worried....i dont think it is a coldsore.

thank you

sounds like an allergy to some type of foods u may have eaten.
ice your lips is your best bet since u are pregnant, try some caramex on lips, try a cool teabag also.
drink plenty of fruit juices, water, try apple cider vinegar rinses.
wash lips good with hot water and then cold ice water.
Good Luck

First of all-I'd tell the nurse at the clinic you went to-to go pound sand!

I am not a medical professional-but it sounds to me that you have got an infection!!! This is not a simple cold sore.

Since you are 33 weeks pregnant-I would run-not walk-to a competent doctors office and demand appropriate care!

I am sorry you got the brush off from an idiotic nurse-but you need to pursue this further and get seen ASAP.

I hope this helps you. God Bless you and your little ones!

Try to think back, did you eat anything at all, probably something that you had not eaten before to cause this condition? I half know how you feel since I hate cold sores so much. I infrequently have them and find Noni juice very effective, by washing with it every few minutes. In your case though, I think knowing the cause is even better than knowing the cure. When you have found out something, I think we would love to hear what happened. Good luck!
