Prayer with fasting is powerful. And the commitment to never give up praying for the person. Remember, if you love that person, how much more God. He loves that person much more than you do. Be patient and have faith becaue He will definitely answer your prayer.
2 Samuel 14:14
"All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him."

First I would urge the person to examine their faith.
Faith commences with the conviction of the mind based on adequate evidence; faith continues in the confidence of the heart or emotions based on conviction, and faith is crowned in the consent of the will, by means of which the conviction and confidence are expressed in conduct.
Key points:
Conviction of the Mind
Confidence of the Heart
Consent of the Will
Conduct of the Body
As you can see from the above, faith affects the whole of a person's nature. Is this person being true to these concepts?
Lastly I would help the person to see that God always answers the prayers of the righteous. But consider the following:
A Christian hunter is hunting bears in the woods. While walking up a hill he grabs a branch for leverage and it breaks sending the hunter tumbling down the hill, gun flying off elsewhere. When the hunter dusts himself off he sees a huge bear charging him. The hunter begins running, but trips and falls, landing on his knees. Seizing the opportunity, and being a good Christian, the hunter begins to pray, "Lord, make this bear a Christian."
The woods are quiet, the hunter turns and, Hallelujah! He sees the bear on his knees, paws together, praying! Listening, he hears the bear praying, "Father, bless this food to my body."
The key point here is that God answers prayers of the righteous, but the answer one gets may not be the answer one wanted, BUT it will always be the right answer.
Prayer draws one nearer to God. Use the following pattern in all prayers and the person will see them answered: Adoration, Contrition, seeking God's will and not your own: Thanksgiving, and Supplication (ACTS) are the contents of prayers to God. See the llinks below for more information.

Gather together more than one person to pray for the intention of the person. Don't stop praying for the person until the prayer is answered.
Offer up Masses for the person. There is a 54 day Rosary that can be offered up to our Blessed Mother. One Joyful mystery and one Sorrowful mystery each day for 54 days. This has never been known to fail.
Jesus said, " Where two or more are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst."
Pray in a group for faster results,

What is the line that you draw for God? "Answer my prayer in five years God or we are through." Perhaps god has a law of creation that says that if anyone waits for God for ten years to fulfill a prayer then the prayer is automatically answered. How much respect do you have for the maker? How much time will you graciously give the maker before you call him false? A year? A decade? If you die waiting for God to give you what you ask for who will be honored, you or the maker who never showed?

Do you mean you are praying for the person to have more faith, or you are praying for yourself to have more faith?
Assuming it's for you: keep praying for sure, but also study the scriptures. Basically do anything that will invite the Holy Ghost to testify to you that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Scripture study, singing hymns, performing acts of service for others, etc. all help to invite the presence of the Holy Ghost.
If it's for someone else: you don't have control over that person's choices, but it's good to pray. God can sometimes bring events into the person's life that will help him/her to turn to God.

The only reason in my experience that the person has lost faith in God is essentially because they do not trust God. Their trust must be built up again and this could take a lifetime or more. You cannot make a person trust God. God cannot make a person trust God. The person has to work through it, that is essentially what a human experience is and why these obstacles are placed in front of us.
My suggestion to you is to "Let go of this person and let God".

Faith is built by the Word of God. Get into the Word, read it, study it, talk about it - speak it into your situation. If I'm sick, I read healing scriptures that confirm to me that healing is part of the atonement. I say it out loud and put my name in the scripture.
Your spirit must "hear" the Word. Receive it into yourself, meditate on it, make it part of your conversation, listen to it in your car coming and going....then allow it to build in your worship to God. Worship God through His Word. You will get to the point where you simply "know." Knowing is the definition of Faith. I know that I can trust God - I trust His integrity - He doesn't lie - He doesn't "forsake" - He doesn't leave - He wants to develop "eternity's best" in me for His glory. Faith "knows" that God is good, that His Word is forever settled in heaven and it can "settle" in me all questions, confusion and concerns. Then when you "pray" - your prayers will be more effective because they are backed up by Faith --- A Faith that is grounded in the Word.

If prayer isn't working; they're doing it wrong.
The Hawai'ians had effective prayer down to a science.

Pray again.
Still no effect? Learn again to see whether you know how to pray properly. Prayer properly means that devoted actions must be accompanied with sincere prayer.
Still no effect? Leave the matter to God. He must have other solutions through otyher people.

Prayer doesnt work without faith.
Prayer is meaningless without faith.
Prayer doesnt restore ur faith it only helps to increase the faith u've got.We ourselves have to build our faith first and then when we pray then it increases.
That's it.Bye.
