I look at christians with a very dim view. Much like "trekies" but without the solid proof.
In the last 6 months, nearly every weekend, I have christians on my doorstep, trying to persuade me to join them in their hateful cult. I use the word hateful because of their actual history of killing, maiming and murder. You dont need examples, do you?

Ive never had a hindu or a muslim come and try selling me their religion, not that I would buy, so why the christians?

Does "He" require salesmen?

Just to respond a little bit.

I am not "full of hate" as someone said. Nothing could be further from the truth.

"They are just trying to save you"? I dont think so. If they are trying to save anyone, its themselves. I dont want to be saved. Im quite safe with that. Thanks all the same...

2.1 billion people coming to your door in last 6 months, nearly every weekend.

I agree though, white people have a wicked history, colonisation, slavery, world wars etc.

I presume you mean Jehovah's witnesses, since these tend to be the only ones who who come around so regularly.

First of all, let me tell you the obvious: we are all going to die, cease to exist.

Next, the not so obvious: death and non-existence is not necessarily the end of it. The Bible tells us that even if we die, we can be resurrected. There is even the hope that those now living may may never die.

This sounds preposterous, of course. It does require proof, if proof exists. This is one of the reasons why Jehovah's Witnesses call around so often, to give that proof.

Another reason why Jehovah's Witnesses call on their neighbours is to find people who are interested in looking into the Bible. They don't know who or where these people are and so they make sure they cover all areas in their own neighbourhood. They not only call on their neighbour's homes, but also look for interested people on the street, in parks, in shops, offices, factories, schools - really, wherever people might be found.

There is a scriptural pescedent for this activity. The last two verses of the book of Matthew has Jesus telling his disciples back then, and by extension all future disciples, to go forth preaching the good news of god's kingdom, teach paple of all nations the things Jesus taught. There is evidence in the Gospels and the book of the Acts of teh Apostles that Jesus and his disiples looked for people in the aforementioned places, or places like them.

You may not wish to hear from them, but they don't know that unless you tell them. In the mean time, they have to make sure that your neighbours also get the same opportunity to accept or reject the message contained in the Bible.

So you're being attacked by Christains? That would make for an interesting movie. "Christains take the world by force! Starting at your doorstep!" I personally never understood why religion of one individual is so important to the whole of the 'cult' as you put it. People should have the right to choose their own path to life. Whether atheist, christain, muslim, or jewish. Isn't it personal enlightment? Perhaps you should put a sign on your frontdoor. "No Solicitation of Religion! PS Beware of Christian-eating dog!"

There is some secret way of gaining access to the lobby of my apartment building which only the religious have access to (or at least, that delivery drivers have never found).

When I tell them I'm an atheist they either just go away in silence or give me an earful about hell, so I shut the door on them. I'm perfectly prepared to be civil until the moment it all goes to barmytown.

The people you are talling about are probably Jehovas Witnesses. These are the ones rhat tend to approach as door to door salesmen. I am a church of england christian and I know for a fact that we take a different approach to evangelism. We are not here to convert individual people nor do we try to tell people what to do with their lives

Anglicanism is a very genuine faith in God and a lot of people I know are very dignified Christians. We come together in a gathering in a Church and not a lot of Anglicans I know approach peoples houses unless they want to spread the word of a local church event.

If you want to learn more about the church, come to see your local vicar or minister. I'm a christan but i never listen to cults of jehovas witness groups.

God does not requires salesmen, some religions just want more people to join there group. I personally don't like the way many religions say they are the true religion the way to god. The truth is we are part of god no matter what race, or religion we are. You see I have been to Buddhist, Mormon, southern baptist, and four square Church's. My soul has never felt right. Most religions want you to believe that god is condeming, yet loving. My god is not prejudice and will accept me into heaven no matter what religion I am, so I chose no religion.
God loves me no matter what I choose in my life. This is my life, my souls journey.

Jesus foretold for our day this work: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” He also instructed his followers: “Go . . . and make disciples of people of all the nations.”—Matthew. 24:14; 28:19.
When Jesus sent out his early disciples, he directed them to go to the homes of the people. (Matthew. 10:7, 11-13) The apostle Paul said regarding his ministry: “I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house.”—Acts 20:20, 21; see also Acts 5:42. Christians who preach from door to door then, do this because they feel that they are following the Jesus's message to do so. Just as a side point for those who will obviously point their answers at Jehovah's witnesses...Jw's are a peaceful religion who feel that any involvement in Warfare is wrong and who have been persecuted, imprisoned and killed because of their neutrality. Hope that helps

It is part of the individual indoctrination of believers, that all non-indoctrinated folk will benefit from their `truth and wisdom`. They have been `won over`, belief replaces logic, invisible beings protect them, and everyone should be the same. Proof, fact, logic, and reality, become unnecessary as the next doorbell beckons.

Check the law on where you live. Find out the legal limits on dealing with trespassers and treat the godbots as such.

They're on your property without your permission, so the law should back you up if you act within the law to get rid of them.

or Maybe ever weekend Jesus wants these people to go to your doorstep and knock on the door of your heart and he is waiting for you to say come in.
Or maybe you you have a nice house and Christians wants to irritate you as much as possible.
