I know Duran is an all time great but Shane was pretty darn good at lightweight. Your thoughts please?

I don't think Duran could knock him out but Duran would take the decision. Mosley is impressive and was glad he looked good in his last fight considering everyone thinks he is too old.

This would have been a great fight. Prime-to-prime, though, I think Duran would have the edge. Duran has too much experience. He would have the edge in power, defense, and stamina. Mosley will have a clear advantage in speed. Roberto has a very high ring generalship and I think will break down Mosley.
The winner of this fight would be Duran hands down. The early rounds may be handed to Mosley since he will have fresh stamina and, therefore, may use his speed more while throwing punches. The defense of Duran would be able to block out some of Mosley's powershots. Heading into the later rounds(this is a 12-rounder, by the way,) Duran would wear Mosley down with power shots of his own. Duran would be patient in this fight, wherein Mosley would become a little frustrated. I see it ending in the 11th or 12th rounds.

Wow what a great fight this would have been and a real headliner! Mosely is a very technically sound fighter with very fast hands. I think the main problem he would have had against Duran would have been his willingness to slug it out with the heavier handed Duran. I think that Mosely would have chosen to fight inside too much against Duran and that would have been his downfall. I consider Duran as the greatest lightweight of all time. I believe that early in the fight that the hand speed of Mosley would have won him several early rounds but Duran would catch him with some well timed counters. In about the 8th round I believe that during a brutal exchange by both fighters that Duran catches him with a right hand which wobbles Mosley and sends him to the canvas. He gets up but can't contiune as the referee stops this exciting fight.

I think Duran would be just too strong at Lightweight, and would force Mosely onto the back foot. I am going for a Duran in a Unanimous Decision, but it'll be reasonably close. Duran wins 9-6.

No knock on Shane, he was more than "pretty darn good" but lets face it, at lightweight Duran was unstoppable. One lump of sugar (Ray) or two (Shane) Duran would have most likely got to Mosley quicker than and with more authority that Forrest did.

Roberto "hands of stone" Duran. With out a doubt. especially if he sticks to his tried and true strategy of not showering for a month before the fight!!! But seriously, a Duran in his prime would have an edge over Mosley in punching power, also in his ability to take a good punch. Although i am a big Duran fan and a little biased.... would love to see that fight

without a doubt Roberto Duran... Shane is a great boxer dont get me wrong but he wouldnt last more than 6 rounds in the ring even if Duran wanted it too last. you talkin bout a man that was quick as lighting plus he had the power... No contest

Mosley has the finest form of any boxer since Sugar Ray Leonard. I think Duran matched his speed in his day but was probably the bigger puncher and could endure more hits so I'm gonna say Duran.

Mosley by unanimous decision. How can Duran pace himself against someone considerably younger than himself
