If this secret could affect them in any way you should definately tell them. If there are no repurcussions from this secret and you don't feel like sharing then don't.

DEPENDS ON HOW TRUSTWORTHY YOUR BEST FRIEND IS.and how much it gonna affect him and more importantly to you.
you can't keep a secret forever,you have to let it out at some point of time,so let it be your best friend to know, he can give you some suggestion as to why not to keep a secret(secrecy suffocates people). but make sure he is trustworthy,he has the ability to keep the secret to himself and he is not going to use this information against you afterwards.

Yes, because if they find it out later, they could be mad at you keeping it a secret from them. And I will tell them because you want to call yourself a true friend

if you really consider him ur best friend, perhaps,you have to tell him. however, if this secret can destroy you, maybe you have to be sure first it won't be used against you. but then, you must have trusted him to consider him your best friend. so tell him. he might be slighted is he will know later you kept something from him.
