A dentist told me that when a person is born with less than 4 wisdom teeth he/she is more evolved. What does that mean? Is it true? What are the wisdom teeth for biologically?

Wisdom teeth do not fit into human beings but they do fit into monkeys mouthes because the muzzle sticks out from the face and there is more room. Dentists are aware of this, but consider what Darwin said about this. He said that evolution works on everything independently. So it is working to improve babies and your ear and fingers without regard to the whole. So while this may be an improvement it is not material.

By the way, since man is the largest force acting on man evolution is deprecated anyway. We are steering our own course.

There is no problem with missing wisdom teeth, evolution is actually being witnessed since fewer teeth are present in the mouth now a days, its natures way of getting rid of what is not needed actually. In the past very long ago...prehistoric man used to have 36 teeth and not 32 so nauture got rid of some of the extra teeth so now we have 32 teeth and soon 28 teeth it seems wisdom teeth will be phased out so to say.

You are normal...!

im not sure wear evolution has a place with wisdom teeth, but not having all your wisdom teeth is usually somthing parents pass on to there kids. most of the time if a parent doesnt have them, you wont. it doesnt make anyone superior or at a disatvantage,it just makes you lucky,a better chance at less surgery than most people.biolagically they are really for no reason, humans have a number of organs that have no function. for example your appendix, not useful, mostly just a problem.i think your dentist must be reffering to actual evolution, like how man came from monkey, they do have a jutted lower jaw that does have room for more teeth, but as we evolved into humans we still have not got to the point were our system realizes they are not neccesary, thus he thinks people without them are more evolved.

I guess I belong on a Geico commercial...I have all 4 in and just fine. I'm probably less evolved than the rest. That is what my wife tells me, at least.
