Yeah, I know what you mean!! My answer is you don't get her out of your system, you let her be inside your heart. Then as time goes by and new things of all kinds happen in your life, she takes up less and less room in there, and the yearning transforms into something like gratitude and a feeling of being richer for having loved her.

I know your pain. I recently overcame the same thing. I don't know your situation specifically but all I can do is tell you to better YOURSELF. If you work out, start finding ways to enjoy work more, etc. then you will tend to think about her less. This will also make u more attractive to new women. Once you get yourself to a point where you completely happy then maybe ask her if she wants to do something as friends. If she says yes then it'll be a chance to have what you originally wanted with her which is a friendship. If she declines than you should be glad you never wasted your time. If you want to get over her for real then you can always think about the things she did that turned you off. For example, I saved her busted old mugshot from when she got a DUI as my account picture on my computer. A daily constant reminder of how ugly she can be. This worked great.

Don't rush yourself. The grieving process is not something you can control. Enjoy your life in the moment. Think about the things you do that make you happy. If there isn't anything, then change it. Find something you really enjoy, and put your heart into it. Start living life for yourself, one day at a time, and finally, the moment will come when you realize that you are no longer hurting. But don't sit around waiting for it to happen, because you'll only make it worse.
Hang in there!

Remember that you are a good person, and deserve to be happy. Don't worry about meeting someone else, just concentrate on doing whatever it is that makes you happy. You don't have to have someone in your life to be happy. Figure out what makes you happy, then go for it. People are attracted to confidence, and inner peace. The only way to find inner peace is to look inside. When you stop looking for someone, that's when you usually find the one you're meant to be with.
