The very concept of sin comes from the Bible. Christianity offers to solve a problem of its own making.

Mahal. The point of the Bible is mind control. Try reading something besides the Bible.

I think American Xtianity and American Capitalism are so entertwined it is virtually impossible to tell where one begins and the other ends.
Fundie Xtians who preach 'the gospel' look like snake oil salesmen to me. When I flip through channels and I see an infomercial followed by a televangelist, I see absolutely no difference.
Both the evangelist and the infomercialist are trying to convince you that you need what they have to sell.
I ain't buyin'
I look at it this way. If Christianity has no ability to increase its numbers w/o resorting to fear and extortion ("Fall on your knees now and pray to this loving God or he will send you to hell forever!!!") then I can't hold anything it says as very valid.

The word sin means "miss the mark." It is first mentioned in Genesis. Hardly a "Christian" invention.
Dan Barker must not have done his homework.
**EDIT** The term Christian applies to people who follow CHRIST. Not all Jewish people follow CHRIST. Genesis is in the Pentateuch, the Torah, or, as Christians refer to it, the OLD TESTAMENT.
My point is, "SIN" , hatar in Hebrew, meaning "missing the mark" (as in an arrow missing a bullseye), was first introduced to JEWISH peoples... BEFORE there were CHRISTIANS.
Again, Dan Barker sounds like a painfully UNINFORMED fellow. At least quote someone who has a better idea of what he's talking about.

Sin is just a bi-product.
The real point is death, and that does NOT come from the Bible; it sort of predates it.
The point of the Bible is the discovery of living beyond death, and sin is nothing more than an element in life, which the Bible takes seriously.
(Next time read the Bible, not someone else's opinion on it--especially a biased opinion.)

wrong sin is the act of doing something immoral or that you the person know is wrong just because its in the bible doesnt mean that it solves a problem of its making your wrong and the question itself is stupid.
