Now that I'm starting to feel less depressed I'm getting a lot of anxiety and its impossible for me to want to feel better. Should I reduce my antidepressants a bit so I can give myself more time to get used to feeling better? Its just not normal for me to feel better and its freaking me out! I don't know if I can handle getting better this fast anymore.

you have probably felt so bad for so long, that you are not used to feeling better. give your medication some more time, and talk to you doctor. i don't think you are in love with feeling depressed, but you were probably so used to it , you felt comfortable. now that you are starting to feel better, you are uncomfortable and maybe a little scared. that is a normal feeling, and hopefully it should pass as you get more comfortable feeling better about yourself. hope this helps, hang in there

Depression is a very complex feeling/emotion, and who knows if there's really an objective thing that IS depression. But...if you LIKE the feeling, and want it back, maybe it is more a part of you than a state of imbalance. Some people are naturally gloomy and pessimistic, and that is who they are. Just get into some hobbies and make yourself feel better by interacting with loving family and friends.

Around the world, not many people suffer from Depression; its just a word for feeling sad and upset with yourself, its called the blues. Just get out of that shell and make a difference by changing for the better. life is too short to screw it up. Bye

Before you make any changes with your medication, you may want to ask your doctor first. There may be issues that you may need to discuss with a therapist or someone in that field and with that you may feel much better.

I think that I would see a therapist about it... in conjunction with the medication. Sounds like something you need to work through.

Maybe you have connected your identity to depression and you don't know who to be without it?

Dont reduce any medication unless its recomended by your doctor, you may be adicted to the medication, hence why your mind wants to be depressed
