If it has stayed there SINCE YOU WERE A KID......

It can't be fixed by DeMagnetizing the picture tube....
TVs have a built-in DeMagnetizer and it would have made it disappear within a week....

So, your Picture tube's Color Alignment Mask is warped and shifting the color to the wrong phosphors....

Time for a New TV.....replacing the picture tube costs as much as a new one....

Do a search on www.dogpile.com and use the keywords "degauss TV screen" (without the quotes) to learn more about it.

You may be able to borrow or rent a degaussing coil from a TV repair shop, otherwise you'll need a TV repair-person to do this for you.

Good luck!

that happens to my tv once in a while and it drives me crazy!!!! something magnetic is causing it or maybe you have something else(like a cordless phone) too close. on my tv it usually goes away in a day or two but in my case i never figured out exactly what causes it.
