I'm not an arrogant person, but I do think I'm ok-looking. I'm certainly no dog. But I've been single for ages. I'm happy to be single most of the time, but there are moments where I feel really lonely. I don't understand why girls a lot less attractive than myself have guys falling all over them. What's the deal?

A minute ago you asked about good ways to lie when you are rejecting guys. Why would you ask that unless there was at least one guy interested in you?
Even so, I'd say most guys are looking for someone a little less shallow.

You're probably not putting yourself out there like a lot of girls.
Especially if you have found comfort in being single.
You may just not appear approachable.
I'm willing to bet that a lot of guys would want to be with you; but I sense that you somehow intimidate would be suitors.
In answer to your question though, different guys want different things. All of us want sex; but some ONLY want sex. Some want a companion that we can trust and grow with. Some just want to hang out once in awhile.
I think that we want the same things that women do.
It's just hard to match up two people that have the same desires at the same time sometimes.

It varies -- a lot. But there are lots of guys who would value a long term relationship with an interesting and interested female, so get out and look. You may encounter one at work, or in some activity, or via any of the matching services; I found my main squeeze through Mensa. In the meantime, read widely, so you can be interesting.

It's all about confidence, and being willing to put yourself out there. Trust me, I was single for 2 years thinking the same thing before I forced myself to do the blind dating circuit. How do you dress? Do you wear skirts and heels? Do you wear a little makeup? Do you style your hair attractively? A lot of little things can make a difference!

Your whole question suggests that you are not a very self confident person. When you start to feel and act as if you are as good as everyone else guys will start to notice you more. Try being more confident without being cocky and you'll be fine.
