Unfortunately nowadays most of Muslims are not eating in this manner.
But there are very valid reason behind this.
_Saving of food, every Muslim has instructions(now a days very few following) to consume each and every part of Halal food in plate do waist it.
_Unity and feelings of unity among people eating from one plate.
_Developing, feeling and sense of sharing available resources.
Think if we develop these things how many problems will vanish from our lives.

Because they don't show partiality with anybody. They show all are one. Eating like this will lead to Unity. It insist that all are the child of God then why should we separate everybody be giving different plates. They also share the food to the needy. It will help us to be friendly with everybody.

yes actually this way of eating is highly recommended. coz its said 2 increase barakah(blessings). it was da way of prophet muhammad(saw). actually diff nationalities hve diff names 4 it. some indians call it THAAL or THAALI

it's called family style to us, many asian nations do it, we westerners often do it in our homes, they do it in restaurants with friends too. You'll see chinese people eating like this in your local chinese restaurant when the staff eats after the rush.
