I have a two year old dachshie that was rescued. He is red, and a miniture. There are three names that have been placed on his kennel, but I can't seem to choose which one is best.
1. Ichigo
2. Widgit
3. Malachi

He seems to like all of the names equally.
Cocks his head at just the same angle and perks up his ears to all three.

Widgit.... definately less embarrassing to shout out at night, also to get his attention in an emergency - like going to near the road, as a responsible dog owner you have to think of these things....

Why not call him all of them and then see which ones he responds to best? Let him choose. Or put three treats on the ground and associate each one with a different name. Which ever treat he eats first is his name.

I prefer Malachi. It is prefrable to use a 3 syllable name as it sound better and more encouraging to the dog. e.g mal-a-kiiiii compared to wiiiiiid-get! Sounds cute!
